CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In case you didn’t know, President Obama is a major hoops fan.

In 2015, Obama correctly predicted that the University of Connecticut would win the women’s NCAA tournament. However, his prediction for the men’s bracket wasn’t so hot, something that an 11-year-old Charlotte girl couldn’t let slide.

In a letter to President Obama, Emilia wrote the following:

“Dear President Obama,

My name is Emilia. I am eleven years old and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I just wanted to tell you that I saw your 2015 NCAA bracket pick and I beat you. You are a great president, just not the best bracket picker.

President Obama, knowing he wanted to pick up his game in 2016, reached out to Emilia.

“Your note gave me the sense you’re a talented young lady with some serious potential. Always remember that nothing is beyond you reach as long as you are willing to set your sights high and put your best effort into everything you do. I expect big things — and great brackets — from you in the years ahead.”
President Obama mailed this signed photograph to a Charlotte girl after she offered some advice when it comes to picking NCAA Tournament games.

Obama also sent Emilia a signed photo from last year’s NCAA Tournament.
