Orange Park Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff's Office responded with some 50 officers to an incident that ended up being fake.

The Orange Park Police Department received a 'swatting' call which alleged that a man had killed two people with an AK 47 and was going to kill himself. The call caused police to respond to a residence in the area of Wells Road and Wells Landing Drive.

The resident wasn't home and there was no evidence to substantiate the call.

"The gentleman had enough information to know who the owner of the residence was, the address, was able to spell it all out so it seemed real to us when we responded," said Chief Gary Goble from the Orange Park Police Department.

“They're [swatting calls] hard cases to work because the calls could be coming from anywhere. The gentleman had enough information to know who the owner of the residence was, the address, was able to spell it all out so it seemed real to us when we responded," Goble said during a press conference.

People who make swatting calls using burner phones and computers and so that can make investigation difficult, said Goble. But he says, "We will probably find you."

The person who made the call could face multiple charges.
