White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will brief reporters at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. The press briefing will be the first to take place since President Trump's summit meeting with Russian Federation President Vladmimir Putin in Helsinki.

Trump caused a stir during the final press conference of the Helsinki meeting when he openly sided with Putin and Russia over the U.S. intelligence community when directly asked to choose between the two on Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.  During the same press conference, Putin was directly asked whether he wanted Trump to win the 2016 election, to which he replied, "Yes, I did."

On Tuesday, during a meeting with lawmakers at the White House, President Trump attempted to staunch the bleeding on his comments by explaining that he used the wrong word during the press conference, and instead had intended to use an awkward double negative.

USA TODAY is providing live coverage of Wednesday's press briefing, which you can watch in the player above.
