White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, the first since President Trump's press conference in the East Room the day after the midterm elections.

Today's live conference will likely address the ongoing immigration battle. President Donald Trump continued his attacks on Monday against a caravan of Central American immigrants, describing some of them as "stone cold criminals."

Trump's attempts to portray members of the caravan as criminals capped off a chaotic weekend that saw immigrants rushing the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the largest border crossing between Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, California. On Sunday, U.S. agents responded by firing tear gas into the crowd, leaving a tense standoff that could escalate in the days to come.

Also,  Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been found to have repeatedly lied to the FBI violating a plea agreement with Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller is recommending that Manafort receive no credit to reduce his prison sentence.
