One man is dead and a woman injured after a shooting at an apartment complex near Fort Caroline Middle School on Thursday night.
Around 10 p.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the Plaza Apartments located at 3700 University Club Blvd. in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival, police found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took both people to a local hospital where the man was pronounced dead.
Police say that the woman suffers from non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they have identified everybody related to the incident but they are still trying to figure out what roles they played.
