PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Two people died in plane crash in rural Putnam County Wednesday morning, authorities say.

Deputy Wells with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed the pilot has been identified as Thomas Stevens, 67. Joe Fyock, of Orange City, Fla., died in the crash.

The aircraft is unknown and Sergeant Dylan Bryan with Florida Highway Patrol says they were told there were "no survivors." The plane crash-landed in an agricultural field in Crescent City near the intersection of Denver Road and Carrier Road.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration:

A general aviation aircraft with two people on board aircraft crashed this morning in the vicinity of Smiley Store Rd. and Old US 17, south of Crescent City, FL. The aircraft was destroyed, and we do not have the type or registration number yet. Local authorities will release the names and conditions of the aircraft occupants. The FAA is investigating and the NTSB will determine probable cause. We will update this statement when we get new information.

Another plane crash was reported in Bunnell, Fla., near the Flagler-Volusia county line Wednesday afternoon. Two were injured in that crash.
