Overnight and into the early hours of Sunday morning, three crashes took place in Nassau County and one in Duval leaving several people injured.
Around 10:18 p.m. a car was traveling northbound on US-1 in Nassau County when it veered over the median, into the southbound lanes, and into the treeline. It struck a tree, which caused it to overturn leaving 28-year-old Kristin McCoy in serious condition. She was taken to UF Health. She was driving on a suspended license.
The second accident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday. In an attempt to avoid a deer a car lost control, overturned and collided with a tree on Middle Road.
There were six teenagers in the car, ranging in ages between 18 -15. They all sustained minor injuries.
The final Nassau County crash occurred when a vehicle hit a pedestrian on US Highway 1 at 12:45 a.m. Sunday. William Mcintosh, 33, was walking south on US Highway 1 in the inside travel lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report and a vehicle hit him. He is listed in serious condition and was taken to UF Health.
The Duval County crash took place at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday and left two people in serious condition. A three-car crash left the driver of two of the vehicles, Israel Lokitek, 45, and Van Aguilar, 46 in serious condition.Two passengers in Aguilar's car, Jason Dixon, 44, and Alison Hakes were also listed with serious injuries.
