The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier will be closed for four months for repairs with a start date planned for January 2020, according to a spokesperson for St. Johns County.
The spokesperson said the repairs will include the following:
- Replacement of the sawn lumber pieces
- Replacement of four Prestress-precast beams with glulam beams
- Removal and replacement of deck boards, guard rails posts
The spokesperson said the repairs are being made due to the pier's age and is expected to cost $776,362.
