St. Johns community members to discuss 250,000 sq. ft. of proposed development Wednesday

The project is called the Durbin Creek Crossing Planned Unit Development.

Community members will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. to discuss the proposed application to build 250,000 square feet of commercial and office space, as well as 400 multi-family units in an area of St. Johns County.

The project is called the Durbin Creek Crossing Planned Unit Development.

The meeting will be held at the St. Johns Service Center. The new facilities, including apartments and townhomes, are proposed to be built at the corner of Race Track Road and St. Johns Parkway, according to Tim Brownlee, Vice Chairman of the Community Development District Board at Durbin Crossing.

Brownlee says the development is expected to have a significant impact on local schools and could also to traffic congestion in the area.
