An old building on Aviles Street has developed some cracks that have officials concerned in St. Augustine. The street has been closed down to car traffic and officials are considering whether to close it to pedestrian traffic as well.
The building has been roped off. The owners of the building were already in the process of getting permission to demolish the building, which was built in 1900 according to property records.
Officials say the building is now being evaluated for structural soundness.
