Police looking for alleged suspect in Jacksonville Amber Alert case

Police said they safely located the 13-year-old boy but the alleged suspect, Patrick Felton, 38, is still unaccounted for.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is still looking for the alleged suspect in the Amber Alert that was issued for a missing 13-year-old Jacksonville boy Sunday morning. Police safely located the boy but the suspect, Patrick Felton, 38, was not found.

On Saturday around 8:04 p.m., police were called after Felton got into an altercation with the boy's mother. Felton was dropping the woman off at Baptist North Medical Center located at 11250 Baptist Health Drive when the suspect refused to let the boy exit the vehicle, JSO said.

Felton then drove off with the boy in his vehicle and hung up on the boy's mother, who demanded that he return the 13-year-old.

Police said Felton then refused to answer his phone and his abonded vehicle was located on Redpoll Avenue. JSO was able to safely located the boy later, but Felton was not with him.

Felton has an active warrant for a carjacking parole violation, police said.

Anyone with information related to Felton's whereabouts is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
