GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — A pedestrian was reportedly struck and killed by a train in Green Cove Springs on Wednesday, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened after 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of Russell Road.
At the time of the incident, 493 customers were on the train and there were no reported injuries to customers or crew members, a spokesperson for Amtrak said.
The train was headed from Sanford, Fla. near Orlando and headed to Lorton, Va. The train remained at the crash site until 10:15 p.m. when it rolled to its destination.
At this time no other information has been released.
