ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — In honor of St. Augustine's 450th anniversary, the school of the day is Pedro Menendez High School!

Students in ninth through 12th grades at Pedro Menendez returned to the classroom Monday, Aug. 13.

The high school opened in 2000 and serves the needs of 1,500 students in St. Johns County. The curriculum offers Academy Programs in business, health science and architectural and building sciences. The Advanced Scholars Program offers students the option to take Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment and Honors courses.

The school was named after Pedro Menendez of Spain, who founded St. Augustine in 1565.
