Murray Hill welcomes over 10 new businesses to the area

With yoga, massage therapy, food and so much more, Murray Hill's booming businesses have something for everyone.

Murray Hill is turning into a goldmine for new businesses. More than 10 new shops have scooped up prime locations on Edgewood Avenue.

Shoppers can find anything from clothing, yoga, massage therapy and -- of course -- lots of food.

“I think the neighborhood is growing,” Chef Jose Salome of El Jefe restaurant told First Coast News.

Next door, Katie Helow said it’s the overall vibe that attracted her to open Casita Yoga Studio.

“It’s definitely an up-and-coming area,” she said. “A lot of new young families are moving to the area.”

While the street is nestled in between family neighborhoods, Murray Hillbilly co-partner Ryan Strandjord says the area is a great option for first-time businesses.

“Murray Hill offers us a unique opportunity, of course," he said. "It’s an up-and-coming neighborhood, course it’s a little bit cheaper for us to set up here and to get our foothold, and it’s also a community that responds well to the kind of foods that we’re making.”

Speaking of food and drink options — the strip has everything from Mexican, Italian, breakfast, as a well as vegan options, to offer.

The variety is something Salome hopes will keep customers coming back.

“I hope so," he said.
