The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a third-alarm fire to a building in Arlington's Three Oaks Plaza Wednesday afternoon
JFRD says the fire started on the second floor of the vacant six-story building, but initially finding where it was proved to be a labor-intensive task.
Just after 2 p.m., JFRD says a civilian notified them of clouds of smoke pouring out of the windows at 7960 Arlington Expy.
While tackling the smoke to find the fire on the second floor, the initial firefighters on scene began running out of oxygen. That's when 40 additional firefighters were called to the scene.
JFRD says multiple people notified them that they had family members inside the building, making the firefighters' task even more strenuous and important.
No one was found inside the building after an hour and a half of tackling and controlling the fire.
No civilians or firefighters were injured during the operation.
