Monday Motivation: Local mentor is inspiring thousands across the nation

Remember a time your confidence, self-esteem and goals were tested? You might've wanted to throw in the towel, but having a mentor encouraged you to keep fighting for the dream?

Remember a time your confidence, self-esteem and goals were tested? You might’ve wanted to throw in the towel, but having a mentor encouraged you to keep fighting for the dream?

Motivational speaker and author, Leonard Chatman Jr., is that mentor and light for young people along the First Coast.

In 2014, Chatman launched a program, ‘Building Solid Stones,’ to deposit faith into young people. He’s pushed, encouraged and given his students the tools to find themselves.

He was inspired by his mentor, that told him, “Leave a legacy, not an inheritance.”

Chatman has mentored nearly 4,000 students, between Jacksonville and Louisville, KY.

He encourages others to keep pressing forward because it is one of the keys to better days.

When he served in the military his drill instructor taught him to “forward march.”

“That’s what I want to tell the world. Don’t march backward. We’re pressing forward, so we’re forward marching,” Chatman said.

Recently he released a book, “Unlocking Your Better Days.” He certain God put him on earth to give people hope, which is what he's doing every day.

If Chatman and his mentees can do it, you can too!

Get out there and make incredible things happen on this Monday!
