A grant was awarded to the City of Jacksonville (COJ) and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) which will support infrastructure improvements, announced Mayor Lenny Curry and Elaine Chao, Secretary of Transportation, Friday afternoon.

The grant is called the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development or BUILD and was awarded to the COJ and JTA on Dec. 2018.

The grant gives $25 million to downtown development efforts like JTA's Bay Street Innovation Corridor projects and developing the city's urban core riverfront.
