JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after one person was killed during a shooting at an apartment complex on Kernan Boulevard Friday night.
JSO said the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. at 3601 S Kernan Blvd.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man between 20-25 years old suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, JSO said.
Police said there was an altercation between two individuals leading up to the shooting.
Witnesses told police they saw a silver SUV flee the scene after the shooting, according to JSO.
Shortly after, officers were able to locate the vehicle matching the description and conduct a traffic stop.
Three people were taken into custody for questioning, police said.
Detectives are currently interviewing those involved and canvassing for video and evidence.
