JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A fire erupted at a North Jacksonville home Monday after a man in his 70s was found dead inside, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 8300 block of Concord Boulevard just before noon after a son reported that he found his father dead inside the home, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Investigators believe Climart Moses had been dead for several days, said JSO Sgt. Dan Jansen at a media briefing Monday afternoon.
Shortly after officials left the scene, Jansen said, a fire ignited at the Moses's house.
The source of the fire is unknown but investigators say there is a "significant" amount of damage.
The son said his father had numerous health issues, according to Jansen.
The State Fire Marshal and JSO will be conducting a joint investigation.
