The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department has called off their search for a jet skier who reportedly went missing near the Mayport jetties Thursday afternoon.
JFRD said they ended their search because there was no indication during their investigation that anyone was in distress and needed help.
The Coast Guard said they will continue search operations until the full search pattern is completed. The Coast Guard is treating the incident as an "unconfirmed person in water."
Marine units and The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office were assisting in finding the missing person, according to a tweet by JFRD.
