In an email to Sam Mousa, chief executive officer to Mayor Curry, a Jacksonville-based demolition company made an offer to demolish The Landing at no cost to the city.

As the city of Jacksonville, who owns the land The Landing is on, fights with the owners of The Landing itself in court, it appears members of the city, including the Mayor, are in favor for it being demolished and made into a riverfront park.

Mayor favors demolishing Jacksonville Landing to make new riverfront park

The email states:

"Mr. Arwood's feeling is that with a mass cooperation of haulers, owners, industry icons, he can put together a team of business people that can make this happen for the city, with only the request of potentially naming the park for the "people in the Waste/ Environmental Industry."
