CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in a retention pond near the Walmart on County Road 220.
At about 1:15 p.m., a maintenance worker in the area found the body. Detectives with the Clay County Sheriff's Office and a dive team soon arrived on the scene to recover the body, according to the CCSO.
Authorities are still working to identify the body and notify the person's family.
Investigators believe foul play is not the cause of the person's death, and there is no threat to the community, the sheriff's office said.
