Tim Deegan on his 38th year forecasting hurricanes: 'It's our biggest meteorological challenge'

This article was originally published May 17, 2019. Storm Experts Tim Deegan and Steve Fundaro broke out the beach cruisers and hit the coffee shop to talk science and forecasting hurricanes.

Tim has been forecasting hurricanes for 38 years and when it comes to tropical meteorology, his brain is an encyclopedia. As we approached the 2019 hurricane season, Tim and Steve discussed the many factors  that come into play when trying to predict an outlook for six months, such as El Nino, ocean temperatures, upper level wind patterns.
