Hartford police investigating after body found in Bushnell Park

Police have taped off a large area and closed several roads

HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police are investigating after a body was found at Bushnell Park Sunday morning. 

Police said at 7:30 a.m., police said they were called to Bushnell Park on a report of a body found in the pond. When they got there, police and Hartford Fire, located and retrieved the man's body. Police said there are no obvious signs of trauma. The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled out foul play. 

Officials said the cause of death has yet to be determined and will require further testing. The identity of the deceased will not be released until notification of next of kin.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crimes Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation. Investigation on-going."

An area by the Carousel over to the Corning Fountain was taped off. Jewell St between Ann Uccello Street and Trumbull Street was also closed.
