Glynn County Rescue saves dog who swam out to sea to chase pelicans

A dog was reunited with his owner after being rescued from the ocean following a morning adventure.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — The video above was published Aug. 11, 2020.

The Glynn County Water Rescue Team says it saved a dog Tuesday morning from the ocean near Massengale Park. 

According to the Glynn County Fire Rescue, the dog named Brooks decided to chase a few pelicans that were half a mile offshore.

Fortunately, members from the water rescue team were able to jump right in and locate Brooks in the St. Simons shipping channel.

Brooks was brought safely back to shore and reunited with his owner.

This week, all 3 shifts participated in a multi-company exercise. Un... its arrived on scene to a simulated single-family residential structure fire and mitigated the incident as if it were an actual incident. Incident commanders set priorities for fire suppression, ventilation, search and rescue, water supply, exposure protection, ventilation, and any other factor they encountered.
