JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Charges have been dropped against two students connected to an alleged sexual battery after the victim told police the sexual activity was consensual, a disposition statement shows.

The victim, a minor, told a teacher that the activity in a school’s field house at Terry Parker High School wasn’t consensual. Then she told police it was.

While both students, one aged 18 and 19, were arrested on felony sexual battery charges, they were never technically charged with those felonies.

The mother of the alleged victim told authorities she did not want the two teens to be charged with felonies so they wouldn’t be registered as sex offenders. That was back in April, shortly after the arrests.

The disposition statements also say that both men will plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
