An 18-year-old man was transported to an area hospital Wednesday following a near-drowning in St. Augustine, according to emergency personnel.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 1400 block of Stockbridge Lane in St. Augustine, where they responded to a possible drowning of an 18-year-old male in a pond.
They performed a quick dive operation and were able to retrieve the teen.
The victim was in cardiac arrest and CPR was performed on him numerous times.
He has been taken to Flagler Hospital via ground transport.
Deputies are still investigating the scene.
The sheriff’s office received a report that the teen was acting off before the incident.
