Well, it's official. Paws Park has gone to the dogs.

As part of the ongoing improvements to the dog park, located at 468 Penman Rd. in Jacksonville Beach, eight different murals are just about ready for their debut.

Kiyomi Brinkley, Destiny "Biscuit" Sutton, Tatiana K., Jasmine Aldershoff, Lili Yuan, Grace Bio and Cameren "CamTayLar" Larson will each be working on their own dog-themed mural under the direction of local muralist Nicole "Nico" Holderbaum, who will also be doing a mural.

Holderbaum is the director of the We Rise Collective, a collective of local artists that organize events, projects, and programming aimed to empower artists and youth in Duval.

For some of the participating artists, this will be their first time painting a mural.

The artists have expressed how grateful they are for the Heinz Family for supporting local art and women. They're hoping that their paintings make Jacksonville a little more beautiful, one mural at a time.

Paws Park is a membership playground for dog owners and their dogs. You can enjoy a large-dog area, a small-dog area, watering bowls and benches to lounge on.
