The trial against James Terry Colley, Jr., the man suspected of shooting and killing his estranged wife and her friend inside their St. Augustine home back in 2015 is expected to start Thursday at 9 a.m.
This week, three new charges were added in the case against Colley. The charges that were added were two counts of attempted first-degree murder and another charge of burglary of a dwelling, making the total of 10 charges. Colley's team pleaded not guilty to the three additional charges.
Late June, a judge granted the motion to not introduce evidence regarding domestic violence in the trial. Colley was in court the day of the shooting for violating a protective order against his wife, but that information has been prohibited from the trial along with initial accusations for said protective order.
