Concert, baseball game to headline Florida-Georgia football game week in Jacksonville

The event will feature plenty of activities throughout the weekend to keep everyone entertained!

Football is back and with it comes a Jacksonville tradition. The annual Florida-Georgia football game, also known as the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry and representatives with SMG and JTA announced on Friday that they will be throwing a 'Bold City Bash' during the week of the game.

"The Florida-Georgia game is one of college football's most storied rivalries and has deep roots in our community," said Curry. "This year we're working to make the game and surrounding events bigger than ever."

The bash will feature a baseball game between the two teams, a fireworks show and a special concert from country-music superstar Brett Young. Curry said that the City is expected to announce two more artists to headline the concert prior to game week.

During the press conference, they said that tickets to both the baseball game and the concert will only be $15.

The 'Bold City Bash' will also feature transportation options from JTA and plenty of activities throughout the weekend to keep everyone entertained.

Since the game was first hosted in Jacksonville in 1933, the average economic impact has been more than $30 million. 

The City says that 2019 Florida-Georgia game will be held on Nov. 2 at TIAA Bank Field.
