City Rescue Mission offering emergency shelter in preparation for Hurricane Dorian

All guests will be provided with blankets, pillows and food while staying in the mission.

The City Rescue Mission will be opening its doors to provide emergency shelter for people as the First Coast prepares for possible impacts from Hurricane Dorian.

The New Life Inn which is located at 234 W. State Street will be offering shelter for an additional 100 men, woman and children. Check-in will begin on Sunday, September 1 at 1:30 p.m. 

Once guests have checked in, they will be able to stay in the shelter all day Monday or until conditions are deemed safe. 

City Rescue Mission's Executive Director Penny Kievet said, "We will not turn anyone away. CRM is here to provide a safe and secure shelter for all those needing to take refuge during severe weather conditions."  

All guests will be provided with blankets, pillows and food while staying in the mission.

The City Rescue Mission will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian and make updates as necessary.
