Brunswick mother runs over five-year-old son who tripped in front of car

They say a black Honda Accord pulled into the parking lot and the driver handed a bag of snacks to her son from the driver's side window.

A tragedy occurred in Brunswick Georgia when a mother ran over her 5-year-old son.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety (GPS), the crash occurred in the parking lot of the Brooklyn Homes in Glynn County around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

GDS says that video from cameras facing the lot captured the crash. They say a black Honda Accord pulled into the parking lot from P Street and stopped. The driver handed a bag of snacks to her son from the driver's side window. He was standing next to the car with his friend.

Her son accepted the snack and then walked in front of the vehicle and tripped. The driver said she was talking to her son’s friend and did not see her son trip. The Honda traveled over the victim and then stopped.

The victim was transported to the SEGHS Brunswick ER, where he was pronounced deceased.
