2 children injured in Ocala drive-by shootings

OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Two children ages 4 and 8 were injured during a drive-by shooting in Ocala.

Police say the children were shot as they slept at around 2 a.m. in the second of two suspected drive-by shootings in northwest Ocala early Friday.

Both children were in stable condition after being taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Police say the shootings were reported about 20 minutes apart. There were no injuries in the first shooting.

Officers found bullet casings outside each residence and bullet holes in each house.
