1 person killed in ATV crash at Hog Waller Mud Bog in Palatka

William T. Lemire, 31, from Starke was driving in a northeast direction inside the Hog Waller Mud Bog when he overturned and fell off the ATV, FHP said.

One man is dead Saturday after the ATV he was driving crashed at the Hog Waller Mud Bog in Palatka, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

William T. Lemire, 31, from Starke was driving in a northeast direction inside the Hog Waller Mud Bog when he overturned and fell off the ATV, FHP said.

Lemire was pronounced dead at the scene.

A portion of the park was closed as FHP investigated the crash.

Hog Waller Mud Bog was hosting an event called Dirty Deeds ATV Bounty Hole Extravaganza, where ATV's and other vehicles gather to ride muddy trails through the swamp.

Lemire leaves behind three children and was an avid ATV rider in the area, according to fellow riders from the Lake Area Riderz Club.

The club also created a fundraiser in order to raise $15,000 to help cover funeral expenses.
