Live music, bottomless mimosas, kids station, is on the menu at Vernon's Sunday Brunch

The Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl, is home to one of the best Sunday Brunch spots on the First Coast, Vernons Kitchen and Bar.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — The Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl, is now home to one of the best Sunday brunch spots in the River City, Vernon's First Coast Kitchen and Bar.

Each Sunday, the restaurant features a different theme

  • First Sunday, Taste of The Mediterranean
  • Second Sunday, Soulful Sunday
  • Third Sunday, Art and Jazz
  • Fourth Sunday, Farm To Table

The unique concept was created by Tanya White, affectionately known as “Momma T”.

“I wanted to do something that would give you a different feel every single time you come to the restaurant but be right in your backyard,” White said.

It’s a full-scale operation that includes everything from live music to an omelet station.

It features a buffet style menu with both sweet and savory cuisines.

“It’s all hands on deck here, it’s not just about me and what I can do, but it’s all of us together as family cooking," White said. "[It's] just like when I was at home as a child in my grandmother’s kitchen, that’s the feel of it, everyone here as something to do.”

There’s also some fun for the kids.

“We have an area with kid-friendly food activities so that while you’re drinking your bottomless mimosa they can have something to do and you can keep [on] sipping,” she said.  

On First Sunday’s there’s a pasta station where chefs create customized pasta dishes with a variety of ingredients.

“It has an array of toppings and seafood," White said. "You choose your pasta,  the type of sauce you want and you get those items sautéed together and created into a pasta dish.”

The Humming Bird Pancakes on Second Sundays are also a hit.

"Some of the ingredients are pineapples, bananas, pecans, coconut [and] cinnamon," White said. "All these flavors are combined with a little sauce that I like to call hummingbird nectar."

The peppered bacon is also a popular staple.

“We get this bacon and we put it in the oven and slow cook it and then it comes out nice and crispy, it’s delicious,” White added.
