The Jacksonville couple that caught their son’s nanny shaking him on a hidden camera have started a petition on change.org to legalize nanny cams in Florida.
Aida- who only wants to go by her first name- invested in a nanny camera when she started to notice changes in her youngest son after months of being watched by their nanny. She hid the camera in her child’s lunch box as she dropped her kids of at the nanny's house.
In the online petition, Aida wrote that “the nanny cam helped us get to the bottom of the issues that we've been trying to solve for months- issues that would've never crossed the minds of medical professionals.”
Florida is a two-party consent state, meaning that both parties involved in a conversation or communication must consent to the recording of their communications.
Aida directed this petition to Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, hoping to get a law passed.
She ended the petition saying “Please help keep our kids safe and help me pass a law to allow nanny cams in Florida!”
