I'm Telling Ken stops at Grinders Diner, received an earful

For the past few weeks, On Your Side's Ken Amaro has been going to various locations and listening to viewers concerns. This is a stop at a location in the East Arlington community.

They came to Grinders, a popular diner on Atlantic Boulevard, with a wide range of complaints.

Tabathya Maunz wanted On Your Side to know about the dangers of living on Acme Street. She said someone is going to get killed because drivers fail to obey the speed limit.

"There are speeders like crazy," she said.

Zataria Brown was there to complain about her employer, a massage company. She said the owner won't pay them.

"We just want to be paid for what we've done," Brown said.

There were complaints about the leadership of a Homeowners Association and an insurance company that is still collecting premiums when it should not.

Some of the many issues and On Your Side plans to address in the days ahead.

Abbe Moody did not have a complaint, she had compliments for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

"We are pleased," she said. "We are happy with the VA."

A few years ago, her husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

He served in Vietnam and she said exposure to Agent Orange has been linked to his cancer.

Moody said the VA treated not only him, but rated him 100 percent disabled while he was being treated.

She knows the VA has been the bane of complaints from others, but wanted us to know it served her husband well.

"They did a strong form of chemo and it dissolved the tumor," she said. "We were very happy with our treatment."

Moody said her husband's cancer is now in remission.

"This January will be six years he has been in remission and he is cancer free," Moody said.
