'They're doing everything right': US health secretary visits TIAA Bank's COVID-19 testing site

Prior to visiting the site, Alex Azar participated in several roundtable meetings with healthcare workers in the Jacksonville area.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — United States Department of Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar, visited the coronavirus testing site located at TIAA Bank Field Friday evening. 

During his 4 p.m. visit, Azar talked about his day in Florida. While in Florida, Azar was able to visit the Mayo Clinic, where elective surgeries and procedures have resumed amid the pandemic.

"I was able to go to the Mayo Clinic and see them reopening and see the elective surgeries, the elective procedures resuming at Mayo," Azar said.

He also visited Burheart Labs, a place that makes COVID-19 testing kits that are used throughout the country.

Prior to visiting the site, Azar participated in several roundtable meetings with healthcare workers in the Jacksonville area. 

During these roundtable meetings, Azar learned more information about how Florida is working to slow the spread of COVID-19 and how the state is planning to safely reopen.

Azar said Jacksonville is doing a good job with testing and thanked the work pf those at COVID-19 TIAA Bank field testing site for their work.

"Well I'll tell you they're doing everything right as you would expect from our first responders, The Jacksonville Fire Department as you'd expect from the National Guard and these military heroes who are here, the infection control is exceptional that they're engaged in," Azar said.
