List: First Coast restaurants, bars and businesses impacted by COVID-19

Efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 are having an impact on local bars, restaurants and retail businesses, as they adjust hours or close completely.

As more cases of COVID-19 are diagnosed across the First Coast, many restaurants, bars and businesses are taking extra precautions by adjusting hours, closing dining rooms or closing altogether.

On Monday, Mayor Curry mandated that all entertainment venues in Jacksonville such as bars, restaurants and other facilities maintain a maximum capacity of 50 or less.

Alcohol will also no longer be sold past midnight. 

Below is a list of bars, restaurants and other businesses in our area that are impacted by COVID-19.

Restaurants

  • 1748 Bakehouse: Curbside pickup and family meals. Most of their menu is available for pick up orders. They are taking credit cards only
  • Bojangles’ will close its dining rooms across all its restaurants and offer only to-go only options.
  • Lucy’s Sweet Shop: Dining room is closed, curbside pick up or delivery only
  • McDonald's is closing dining rooms and PlayPlaces at its company-owned locations, and is asking its franchise locations to do the same
  • Pollo Tropical is closing dining room seating and is offering free delivery through April 3 on orders placed on the restaurant's app or website. The restaurant will also be open for drive-thru ordering
  • Shut Em Down Authentic Southern Restaurant: dining room is closed starting March 17th. Curbside pick up is available, or delivery
  • Starbucks - Closing dining areas nationwide and transitions to drive-through only
  • Subcultured Subs: Regular hours, pick up or take out only
  • The Alhambra Theatre & Dining is canceling its performances through April 26, including the remaining weel of its current show "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" and its next performance of "Singin' in the Rain." Those who purchased tickets to these shows will be offered a house credit toward a future show.
  • The Happy Grilled Cheese: In an effort to limit shared surfaces, all food will be packaged to-go, no trays/baskets, no shared menus, paper to-go menus only
  • Zaxby's is limiting its service to drive-thru only effective Tuesday. They are encouraging customers to limit in-person contact by using online ordering, the Zaxby's mobile app and contactless payment methods

At the St. Johns Town Center, which closed Wednesday, March 18 until March 29:

Bars

**UPDATE: 3/17: During a press conference Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced all bars and nightclubs in Florida will be suspended for 30 days in Florida starting 3/17 at 5 p.m. MORE HERE.

Because of this, this list of bars will no longer be updated.

Businesses

  • Simon Property Group is closing all of its malls, premium outlets and retail properties start at 7 p.m. local time Wednesday, March 18. The closures are expected to last until March 29. Locally, this impacts the following shopping centers:
    • St. Augustine Premium Outlets in St. Augustine
    • St. Johns Town Center in  Jacksonville
    • The Avenues in Jacksonville
  • Ikea closed its doors at 5 p.m. Monday until further notice. A notice on the furniture mega-store's door said it is following the recommendation of the CDC and local authorities, and will list updates on ikea.com.
  • Goodwill will close stores but some donation centers will remain open Including:

  • Murabella / World Golf Village - 124 Capulet Drive * St. Augustine, FL
  • Northside/RiverCity - 3186 New Berlin Road * Jax. FL
  • Shops At Ponte Vedra - 880 A1A North * Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
  • Racetrack Road – 40 Everest Lane * St. Johns, FL
  • Villages of San Pablo - 13474 Atlantic Blvd.* Jax. FL
  • Bath & Body Works announced Monday all stores in the United States and Canada will be closing as a response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The announcement was made in an email to customers.
  • Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park will close starting Wednesday 3/18.
