Two breweries from right here on the First Coast are taking home some serious hardware after placing in multiple categories at the 2019 U.S. Open Beer Championship.
Breweries from "Russia to Rhode Island" sent in thousands of samples to be judged in 130 categories. According to their website, the competition is the only one to include beers from professional breweries and award-winning home-brewers.
Springfield based Main & Six Brewing won big, taking home three awards and securing a spot on the top ten breweries in the entire competition. The brewery was ranked #7 and beat out other major contenders such as Cigar City and Brew Bus.
But that's not all! SJ Brewing, based in Yulee, also won for their Low Lumens Lager. An impressive feat considering the brewery is relatively new.
