Duval County Public Schools announces changes to early dismissal policy

There will now be only one early dismissal day per month instead of the two a month that students experienced during the 2018-2019 school year.

Duval County Public Schools announced some changes to the early dismissal policy for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, the school district announced on  Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

There will now be only one early dismissal day per month instead of the two a month that students experienced the previous school year.

Students will also be released a full two hours earlier than their regularly scheduled dismissal time. 

The 2019-2020 early dismissal days are:

  • Aug. 28
  • Sep. 25
  • Oct. 30
  • Nov. 13
  • Dec. 11
  • Jan. 29
  • Feb. 26
  • March 25
  • April 29
  • May 20

Any changes to these dates can be found at the Duval County Public Schools website. Parents are asked to remember to check the calendar frequently for any updates.
