JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police responded to Melvin Road on the Westside Satruday night after a person was shot.
A male resident on the street told police that four or five men shot at him as he opened the front door to let his girlfriend inside.
The victim also told police the suspects tried to force their way inside the house, but fled the area when they couldn't.
The man's girlfriend was shot in the back and arm and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
JSO detectives are investigating the incident.
