Suspects identified in robbery investigation that led to officer-involved shooting

The shooting started as an undercover investigation to bust suspects in a string of robberies.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The two suspects at the center of a robbery investigation that led to the officer-involved shooting Saturday on the Northside have been identified by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO says Ejon Davis, 18, and Elija Davis, 22, were the subjects involved in Saturday night's incident. JSO says Officer K.L. Semones fired eight times at Elija Davis, striking him multiple times. 

Elija Davis remains in stable condition at UF Health, JSO says. 

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. and started as an undercover investigation to bust suspects in a string of robberies. Police said eight robberies happened over the course of 48 hours and all started over social media.

Ejon Davis' mugshot was the only one released by JSO at this time.
