Suspect hits patrol car during chase, flees on foot; search continues in St. Johns County

Residents urged to lock doors, call 9-1-1 if you see suspicious activity in area of CR-210, I-95 as police search for suspect

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and other local agencies are searching for a woman after they say she stole a vehicle and rammed into a patrol car during the pursuit.

Police are urging residents in the area of CR-210 and I-95 to keep their doors locked and call 911 if they see anything suspicious, as the suspect has not yet been found. 

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says the car chase ended with the woman driver "intentionally ramming" a police patrol car, then fleeing on foot. There were three other individuals inside the vehicle, but police have apprehended them.

St. Johns Co. Sheriff Chuck Mulligan said he does not believe there were any injuries to any officers. 

Police K9s, air support, JSO, and FHP are assisting in the search. 

Police are still in the area searching for the suspect as of 10:15 p.m.
