Man dead after shooting in Northwest Jacksonville Monday morning

At this time it's unclear how many people were shot or the extent of their injuries.

A man is dead after a shooting in Northwest Jacksonville on Monday.

Sometime around 3 a.m., police responded to the Washington Heights Apartment Complex in the 4200 block of W. Moncrief Road.

Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot inside a home. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead.

Police say he appeared to be in his late teens. His exact age has not yet been released.
