A woman is in critical condition Thursday night following reports of a shooting in the Lake Forrest Hills area of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Police were called to reports of a person shot in the 8000 block of Helston Drive. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, who was then taken to a local hospital for treatment in critical condition, police said.
The investigation found the victim was in a car at Helston Drive and Denham Road west when suspects, possibly in two vehicles, began shooting, police said. Police have not yet learned the motive for the shooting, JSO said.
Detectives with the JSO Investigations Division are handling the case.
