Police: Jacksonville group home resident shot by manager

JSO said preliminary information suggests the group home manager, a woman, may have shot the victim in self-defense.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A resident of a group home in Jacksonville's Herlong neighborhood was shot by the home's manager Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO said police were called at 9:20 p.m. to the 3900 block of Bramble Road regarding a person shot. Once at the scene, officers found a man inside the residents suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

JSO said preliminary information suggests the group home manager, a woman, may have shot the victim in self-defense. Five other residents were inside the home at the time of the shooting but no other injuries were reported.

The shooting happened in the 2900 block of Bramble Road.

JSO said no arrests have been made.
