A man is dead after he was shot in the Brentwood area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO said it got a call about shots fired near the intersection of Birch and Perry Streets around 5 p.m. When police arrived, they found the victim sitting in his car with gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Police say they are now looking for an SUV-style vehicle, possibly red or burgandy, that was seen leaving the shooting.
