Police: Woman arrested after alleged shooting, SWAT standoff involving ex at Windsor Falls Condos

Police say the suspect in this case is the man's ex, who they say shot the victim and then barricaded herself inside his apartment.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An alleged shooter has been apprehended after a standoff with police lasted several hours, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police say around 8:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Windsor Falls Condos in Jacksonville. When they arrived, they located a man in his 60s suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, JSO says.

Police say the suspect in this case is the man's ex, who they say shot the victim and then barricaded herself inside his apartment.

JSO says the SWAT team was able to take the woman into custody several hours later. At this time, her identity has not been released.

A law enforcement source tells us two total people were taken from this scene to the hospital. 

Residents showed First Coast News emails sent at 9:23 a.m. from management asking residents to stay inside their homes. The subject said: "Please stay in your unit: An active shooter in Windsor Falls JSO is here responding to the incident."

The email, sent by William Jackson, who appears to be with the Windsor Falls management, says: "The shooter is currently in a unit surrounded by JSO Officers. For your safety please stay in your unit until the police give us the okay and the shooter has been apprehended and it is safe."
