34-year-old man in life-threatening condition after Murray Hill shooting

JSO says someone in the area of the 3000 block of Plum Street called 911 around 3:40 a.m., reporting gunshots. They found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in the Murray Hill area Tuesday morning.

JSO says someone in the area of the 3000 block of Plum Street called 911 around 3:40 a.m., reporting gunshots. When officers arrived, they found a 34-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Because of the severity of his injuries, JSO's Homicide Unit responded and is handling the investigation into the shooting, JSO said.

The investigation appears to show the man was shot outside of a home on Plum Street. Police said they do not know whether the victim was targeted.

JSO is canvassing the area for any possible witnesses or surveillance video in the area.
