Pictures released of Springfield bank robber

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released surveillance from a bank robbery Monday off Main Street.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released surveillance photos of a man they say robbed a Springfield area bank.

The incident happened Monday afternoon in the 1700 block of North Main Street.

A man walked into the VyStar Credit Union around 1 p.m. with a written note demanding money.

JSO said they believe he walked out and got into a red Chevrolet Tahoe with custom rims. There's no indication that he was armed with a weapon.

He is believed to be about 6 feet 1 inches tall and was wearing blue jeans and has a gray/white beard.

JSO also said of the 13 bank robberies that have occurred so far this year, 11 of them have been solved.

Monday's bank robbery does not appear to be connected to any other bank robberies.
